Responsible for overall leadership and administration of the

QUALIFICATIONS:

Seasoned professional educator or consultant with a Masters Degree in
marketing, business, education, nursing, or equivalent.  At lease five years
senior-level experience in strategic product and service development,
preferably for an association or university.  Demonstrated ability to foster
interdisciplinary collaboration and team building.  Analytical thinking
skills and the ability to conceptualize new services based on trends and market data.

Ability to manage multiple programs, work with volunteers, negotiate major
issues and contribute to the senior leadership team.  Ability to manage the
education product line, financials and ensure positive profit margins.  Must
have intermediate to advanced computer skills and ability to work with
Microsoft 2000 programs, as well as skills in public speaking and the ability
to travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business/Financial
1. Coordinates and manages financial planning, operating and capital budget
     preparation and product line analysis for the Center for Nursing Education (CNE).
2. With appropriate teams, establishes quality indicators for CNE.  Takes
    corrective action based on sound measurements of outcomes.
3. Integrates multiple product lines and staff services within CNE to realize
    best possible efficiencies that ensure positive profit margins.
4. Investigates new projects and programs consistent with the center's
     mission and prepares appropriate business plans to meet non-dues revenue projections
     and profit margins.
5. Proven ability to successfully develop education products and services for
    a professional association is preferred.

Personal Responsibilities
1. Selects, orients, mentors and evaluates persons for whom direct
responsibility is identified.  Involves teams in selection process as appropriate.
2. Plans and implements staff rewards that encourage continuous quality
improvement in all work processes.
3. Plans for activities that promote open communication and teamwork within AORN staff.
4. Encourages participation of all staff in association-wide activities that
promote working relationships throughout the organization. Leadership
1. Analyzes work processes and assists others in developing improved processes

Works with other directors in the identification and development of special projects.
3. Assists in the development and implementation of the Association's strategic plan.

5. Assures confidentiality of sensitive information.
6. Assists in the preparation of operational and executive reports to the Board of Directors.
7. Chooses appropriate educational activities for personal growth and
development that will add value to the Association services.
8. Serves as the Association,s staff authority on education and practice areas
and attends meetings of the Board of Directors as needed.  Implements
follow-up of Board action within the department.
9. Monitors performance of employees and activities in CNE.  Develops process
improvement plan and measures performance of key indicators.

Education
1. Collaborates with education specialists in identifying educational needs
of identified target audiences.
2. Oversees implementation of timely educational products and services.
3. Supports education staff in providing quality education products in line
with a diversified AORN.
4. Works with CNO/VP Professional Services and Director of the Foundation to
facilitate appropriate allocation of funding for education products and services.

Job Summary:

The Medical Affairs Associate will help to ensure the safety and 
efficacy of BD Medical Products by providing the clinician users 
perspective for new product development and current product enhancements, 
by assisting in the creation of Instructions For Use (IFU) and training materials 
and through the conduct of clinical trials to demonstrate performance and safety 
of products for product development, regulatory and marketing goals.
The Medical Affairs Associate will serve as the Medical Affairs representative to 
Project Teams and will act as a study manager for clinical trials. 
This associate is responsible for developing, executing and reporting clinical trials 
to guide product development and to support regulatory submissions by establishing 
the safety and efficacy of new or modified products, evaluating the effectiveness 
of instructions for device/drug product use, justifying labeling and promotional 
claims, and to evaluate potential product defects of malfunctions of products for BD Medical. 
S/he will maintain clinical expertise related to the products marketed by BD Medical 
for the purpose of internal and external education and or authoritative participation on 
product development teams. As required, s/he will evaluate marketing materials and 
labeling to ensure that performance claims and instruction for use reflect best practices, 
have a demonstrable basis in fact, and have clarity and utility for the healthcare professional.
Education / Experience:
-Registered Nurse with advanced degree, registered pharmacist, PharmD, 
  or Masters in health-related field with three years experience in a clinical setting.
-Experience working with a medical device manufacturer or pharmaceutical 
  company is desirable.
-One to three years of direct clinical trials experience, preferable with in the pharmaceutical 
  or the medical device industry, including the proven ability to author, conduct and report 
  clinical studies with limited supervision.
-Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and other Regulations and Guidance 
  relative to the conduct of clinical trials worldwide.
-Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform well in a highly matrixed 
  environment, and to serve as an effective member of highly functioning multidisciplinary teams.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to create and organize 
  technical/medical documentation.
-Highly organized, dynamic, confident, energetic, creative, and open to new experience and ideas.
-Be able to augment and modify personal knowledge or experience into perspectives 
  that represent widely held clinical viewpoints.
-Experience developing and presenting training/education programs is desirable.
-Demonstrated proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheets and slide programs.
-Knowledge of clinical study statistics, database management and computer graphics is desirable

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Green River Community College is seeking a full-time, tenure track nursing instructor.  
Green River welcomes faculty who have a commitment to teaching and the ability to utilize 
a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success.  
Given the diversity of our student population, we encourage applications from 
faculty who can adapt teaching methods to a wide range of student backgrounds and interests. 

The primary responsibility of this position is teaching classroom and clinical instruction 
to any programs within the Nursing Program, including both day or evening programs, 
supporting students in gaining knowledge and skills of nursing care thru the nursing process, 
and promoting health education and safety.  Instruction may include 
either the day and evening programs as dictated by curriculum needs.  
In addition to teaching duties, responsibilities will include participating 
in curriculum review and development, engaging in department, division 
and college initiatives, as well as college shared college governance, participating 
in the accreditation process through Northwest and the 
Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and performing other 
contracted activities.

SUMMARY This full-time faculty, tenure track position provides comprehensive instruction to practical nursing program students. This faculty member will also teach didactic and practical exercise portions of the pre-clinical and clinical curriculum for the practical nursing program. PRIMARY DUTIES . Teach, coordinate and provide both clinical and didactic instruction to School of Practical Nursing students that help develop student competency in the utilization of all elements of the nursing process, planning and organizing their work schedules, assisting as a nurse in teaching clients, functioning as a Licensed Registered Nurse within the health care delivery system including interpersonal skills, problem solving and decision making. . Coordinate the delivery of instruction to nursing students with the other nursing program faculty and ensure that instruction design and delivery supports the approved objectives of the program. . Monitor student outcomes with other School of Practical Nursing faculty and employers and adjust course content to facilitate student success. . Write, develop and update course curriculum documentation, including performance objectives, competencies, lesson plans and content by analyzing industry needs in the occupation taught. Ensure that instruction is consistent with current industry standards, technologies, procedures, equipment and materials. . Mentor, encourage, counsel and guide students toward the completion of program requirements i.e., interpersonal relationships, career goals and responsible work habits. . Be attentive to student problems and provide assistance in solving them. . Ensure that appropriate safety practices are used at all times, students are knowledgeable of safety techniques, and all equipment is maintained in a safe working condition. . Use effective competency-based teaching techniques, instructional materials, and appropriate media support in conducting classroom and laboratory projects. . Provide individualized instruction, as needed. . Work with other instructors and support services personnel to ensure a cohesive vocational learning environment dedicated to providing industry with qualified entry-level persons. . Remain current with industry standards in order to ensure that instruction is consistent with current technologies. . Be knowledgeable of and equitably enforce College policies, regulations, and College operating procedures. . Maintain accurate written records and timelines as required. . Requisition and maintain control of and safeguard inventories of equipment and supplies assigned to the School of Practical Nursing. . Cooperate with and assist administration in its responsibility in the recruitment of students and promotion of their program. . In cooperation with other program faculty, maintain programmatic approval status through the Washington State Nursing Commission. . Maintain friendly and cooperative relationships with respective industry. . Attend staff meetings. . Other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS . Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. . Seven (7) years working experience in the Nursing field. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS . Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. . Supervisory experience. . Experience in teaching gained through previous employment or practice in an educational program. . Experience working with persons of disability and/or learning-disabled persons. . Prior teaching in vocational atmosphere.
